I had only joined this group a few months ago, so Katy and I hadn't made it out there yet from over here in Pasadena.

About three weeks ago Katy became ill and was diagnosed with Stage IV renal failure; she took a turn for the worse and had to be put down, and that happened early in the morning on April 14th. This has been the saddest time of my life. She had just turned 13, so she fortunately had led a full life. I was very close to her. The fact that she was such a gentle little dog makes this even worse.

I have her ashes which gave me some peace of mind.

Sorry for that 'downer' but I wanted to memorialize her and it sort of helps to do that.

Dear Mike,

"Downer" absolutely not ! this group is made up of people who love their dogs more than words can describe, and we can't imagine the pain and heartache you are going through.
I have heard of Pet Bereavement groups, perhaps that would help ? things are sometimes easier with the support of others who understand and empathize what you are going through.
So sorry to hear of your loss of precious Katy.

Thanks for the kind words. Maybe some day I will get another Chihuahua; I just don't know.

Anyway, I added some nice photos of her.
