I just moved into a house in late February. My neighbors behind me have 3 dogs -- 2 big dogs and a Chihuahua. It appears that they leave all of them outside all the time with the big dogs chained and the Chi in a wire crate. I am concerned that he is going to get heatstroke, because there is no shade in their yard, and he is just out in the open. I actually introduced myself to a teenager in the yard yesterday, and asked to speak with his mom or dad, because their portion of the fence between us is almost falling down (I was going to start the conversation with the fence issue and lead into asking about the Chihuahua being out in the sun) -- I had to put netting up to keep their dogs out of my yard. He said she wasn't home, so I gave him my phone # and asked him to have her call me. She never called. I was going to ask her about the Chihuahua.
I also saw the Chihuahua out loose on Good Friday. He isn't wearing a collar. I am very worried he is going to die out in the sun every day, but if I call the SPCA the neighbors are going to know I'm the one who called, and I don't want to create a bad relationship with them. I don't know what to do. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks, Dana and Maizie ![]() |

Dana,
Any developments with the poor dogs? Have they been moved in now that it's getting warmer? Jenny |
