Mifi, your baby is so beautiful. I love that spot on his head. My oldest girl is about 15 lbs. Another is 9 lbs. One time someone called them "fake" chihuahuas. I was like, "no, they're real." :)

Paris Hilton needs hit on the head with a rubber mallet. Thanks to her all the little teen-age girls got the idea that everyone needed a Chi for a purse ornament. What an idiot!

We need to contract Spencer's Waste managment to take care of Paris ***puts finger to side of nose***

Seriously, she's horrible.

if it makes you feel any better....i do have a little girl (just under 3 lbs) and i get the opposite reaction when i take her out and about... i get a confused look, and :"is she full grown?". when i let "stranger" know that yes, she is full grown, i sometimes get a scowl (which is why i am so protective of my baby). i automatically think that people are grouping me with paris hilton and what flies through my head is : "i have facial piercings, plugs and jet black hair....do you think i f@#*&% want to be paris hilton???"angry

AMY....with the under 3 lb dog & facial piercings....Where do you purchase your dogs cloths? I see her in shirts, sweaters & stuff in some of those pics and I am just dying to know. My Cera is just "barely" 3 lbs and very petite (I think she may have lost some weight) and if not for Janes Harnesses & the beautiful sweater the other Amy made for her the poor thing would be freezing & naked all the time.

Believe it or not, walmart has xxs sizes which are so tiny that they are too small on my 3 pounder. I buy her xs. They had some really adorable shirts at my walmart today. Their prices are sooo cheap also. Their t-shirts and sweatshirts are only $6.97. If you dont have one near you, I can pick up a few and mail them to you. Ill try to get a picture of a bunch that I bought. Lori and 4

Thanks Amy a link would be great & I will check out ebay! Lori R.....I think I live close to the most awful Wal-mart ever they never have anything for my poor Cera...I have a Super Center & not to mention the other 3 Wal-marts within the same 10 mi radius you would think they would keep this stuff in stock but they don't! I am willing to shop online & in another State to get Cera a few nice items!

I love my chihuahua, now granted he isn't a "giant Chi" he is 6 pounds but I wouldn't want one smaller cause I don't have to worry so much about him getting injured. Now I love smaller chi's too cause they are so darn cute I just am grateful that I personally don't have the responsibility of one. You never know what you are gonna get when you breed to dogs. My mom had a yorkie that was 10 lbs but his mother was 3 lbs and his father was 2 lbs he was just a throw back to the original size of yorkies. I think it is the same with chihuahuas you can never truly guarentee size.

I just want to say something to all of us out there with "Giant Chis"... a lot of people have been posting that they like the fact that their chis are big because they are not as "delicate". I just wanted to say that that is NOT TRUE! My Bailey is a perfect example. He is an 8.2 lbs giant monster chi - but he still broke his two front legs in two separate incidents when he was a puppy. And this is BECAUSE he is a giant chi! He was going through a growth spurt at the time and his joints were all cartilege because he had a lot of growing to do. So please - just because you have a big chi - that does not mean that you should not be as careful or think that they are not as delicate - they ARE!!!

I have a crock-pot sized chi too! My Tucker weights between 8 and 9 lbs. Not an ounce of fat either and he is 10 months old. His breeder was angry when I posted his weight on our local forums because she didn't want potential customers to see how big he is! His father is a 4 pounder and his mom is a 5 lb. He is a throwback genetically too! And he is a long coat - so I get the "what is he" question all the time! What is worse is when they ask what she is! Just cause of the long hair they think he's a girl?? He was the only pup in his litter - but only weighed 4.8 oz at birth. So he charted out at 5 lbs +/- but you just never really know! Molly is the opposite - she is 3.5 lbs at 6 months. People ask me how old the baby is! Have to say with Sparky (chi/yorkie at 11 lbs - should be more like 9.5 - 10) Tucker and Molly taking a walk with me, that we get a lot of looks! And no - just because they are larger doesn't make them tougher! They can still get hurt easily. To me it doesn't matter how big or small any of them are - they are my babies and I just couldn't love them more than I do!
