And that says alot because I really adore my wife. Went away for 15 days and had my Cooper stay at the vetenarians. I brought a picture of him and put it up at all the hotels we went to on our vacation in California. Every evening when I put the picture up I would say his babytalk name doopie doobie doo.
Ocassionally I would move the picture up and down and put his picture in the bed with us to get my wife going. The whole trip home I just couldnt wait to get home so I could get on the ground with him and let him lick me up. He does this thing when I put my head on the ground he will lay the bottom of his chin on my mouth and just hang there for about 10 seconds. I even blow air on his bellie in the same way people do with little babies. Man I got it bad, I tell ya.

While he was at the vet he got a cough so we're bringing him back after a couple of days on antibiotics.

I think keeping him at the vet for 15-20 days was just too much. Eventhough he was there safely I just dont think I could do that again.

Is there a specal book out for the trvelling chihuahua couple ?

You'd be suprised how many hotels are now pet friendly. I can definately feel your pain because when we go away even for a couple of days I have my dad watch the boys and I end up thinking about them the whole time we're gone. Then of course, their all spoiled when we come home because my dad will give them treats whenever they want... I think they know what a sucker he is and they just beg and beg until he gives in.

Also, it's funny that you say he'll lay with his chin on your mouth... My oldest, Yoda, likes to lay with his neck over your mouth and get "poofies" (what we call it when we blow little bits of air on his neck to make funny sounds). He loves it. Sometimes he'll just sit with his neck resting on your mouth waiting and if you don't do it, he just stays there until he gets one...

Just type "pet friendly hotels" into your search and you will find alot ot sites to help. Even if your favorite place doesn't advertise as pet friendly, just call and ask. I've found that many places will accept pet, especially ones as small as a chihuahua. Whenever I plan a vacation, I now search ahead of time for places that will accept small pets. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Its quite easy to travel with your pet . Im from Chicago and Drive to Mexico every yr with my husband two kids and chis. i go through Arkansas,Missouri,Tennessee,Texas etc. You just have to find pet friendly hotels and their are many . especially with small dogs its so much easier. Just plan a head. I go online and pin point where ill be staying for the night and find a hotel in that area . i use mapquest and expedia.com.
