This reply is a little OT for here but also applies to the post by Steven and Cooper.

After the fiasco in New Orleans and Katrina and all the loving pets that were totally ignored and left to live or die on their own, Hubby Dear and I made a pact then and there. If the babies can't go we do not go. We can take better care of them than anyone else, so we're a FAMILY and FAMILIES STAY TOGETHER.

It's a hard line to draw but that is the way we feel. If the fur babies aren't good enough to go then we are TOO GOOD to go (or stay or whatever the wording may be). Our only exception is in areas that serve food. In that situation one of us will go in while the other will wait with the babies.

I suppose my answer is the babies ARE our whole world because they make our world complete. I know some won't agree but then that is what makes each of us so valuable. The key word is EACH.

Hug your fur baby and know that it would give it's life for you without even batting an eye. That little four pounder will attack a 200 pound intruder and never think twice. Are you that willing to protect your fur baby? Only you can answer that question but I pray it is one you never have to ask yourself.

Mimi and the Herd love struck

I am in fact very happy to have found this thread and that we are all able to share our love for our little chi-babies.And yes even though it does make my eyes dwell with tears to think and speak of the past, Im still so grateful for being able to share and have others really know and feel where im coming from as well. So thank you lexxi for asking this question and thanks to everyone for your sympathy and sharing your feelings and stories. Its great being able to relate and be understood.

What an emotional thread....I lost my cat of 16 years over 2 years ago and still miss her deeply, but these 2 chi girls of mine make me laugh everyday. I love them so much and try not to think of life without them. I will be devastated...just enjoying and loving them one day at a time.
