Today I posted a story with photos of how Dixie is getting along with her new kitty, Mason. I hope you enjoy it.

Jayne, I used to have this very same problem with Yoda. Eventually we just got a litter box that has the top on it. Kinda like a little potty clubhouse. Yoda wouldn't go inside the clubhouse so he quit eating the delicious treats that the cat left behind for him. I was also thinking that if you got a box with a cover on it, then Mason would have no choice but to keep his cute little buns inside the walls of the litter box, therefore, the delicious treats he leaves would at least stay inside the box as well...

Isn't it funny about cats and chihuahuas... My three boys get along ok with other dogs as far as not trying to fight with them, but not enough to play with them. BUT, if they see a cat, LOOK OUT!!! They don't even wait to see if the cat is friendly, they just get so excited and run right at it...

My Yoda grew up with his sister cat Wicket. They love each other so much and they sleep together all the time. Then we got two more chihuahuas, Chewy and eventually Lando. Yoda loves his brothers and they play together every day. However, when Yoda isn't feeling well and he needs comfort and mommy's not around, he heads straight for sissy, who then proceeds to bath his face and snuggle until all is right again...

Thanks Lexxi and Lacey. Those are really good suggestions about the covered cat box. Actually, Mason seems to be getting better. He's hitting the mark at least 50% of the time. Right now he's snugged up in Dixie's little bed with her. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect relationship between the two.

Jayne , my Mom used to say the same thing to me about hoping I have a child just like me. Thank goodness I didn't, I couldn't of for a better daughter and she is an only child that never asked for a sibling.I have brothers and a sister but none of us live near each othercrying , so thank goodness for friends. I love how Dixie and Mason are a fulfillment for you. As my daughter got older I started feeling the need to nurture and that is how I ended up with 3 dogs 4 cats and a bird. They really are my family and I love them dearly. I can just picture Mason getting Dixie chew, they sound like a lot of fun. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
